I’m Rubin Pantofaru and I'm an Israeli Glass artist that Lives and works in Jerusalem. I studied in Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, where I majored in glass. I have always been curious about glass art work. The process of working with the material fascinates me, and I am always in search of new ways to approach glass. For the past few years I have been developing a technique of mixing&nbsp; copper wire structures into the glass blowing process. I am exploring the way the glass interacts with the copper and the new meanings that arouse every time a specific copper structure meets the glass. As the daughter of a ceramist and multi-disciplinary artist (Ruth Pantofaru 1952-2017), she grew up in a world that touched materials.&nbsp; When she arrived in the Ceramic and Glass Design Department, Bezalel, she was drawn to glass blowing, a technique that unlike most materials does not allow direct contact with the material. The feeling of fear and yearning for her mother drew her to use copper wire etched into the works of this series, a material she found in the materials she inherited from her mother. We are used to seeing glass as noble and elegant, kitschy and fragile but Rubin&nbsp;designs the glass without a plan and a purpose, and the sculpted objects look bold and direct. The works in the exhibition attempt to grasp the ephemeral through personal introspection. Osnat Oliva layers of oil paints move between a figurative and abstract world. In her works she explores a number of motifs, such as still life and nude form, that are deconstructed into abstract and imaginary forms that reassemble into one surprising composition Tamar Branitzky recreates the wild Israeli landscape. Her studio becomes a research laboratory where she processes materials she collects and creates imaginary landscapes, by layering fabrics, paper, thread and adding textures. She combines land and sea, sometimes visible above the surface and sometimes hidden beneath it. The use of delicate textiles, crisp paper and printing techniques allow for a new, original and poetic material observation, a journey through time Rubin Pantofaru's work is a dialogue with her family legacy by creating amorphous objects made of colored glass and copper skeletons from the copper coil she inherited from her mother, a goldsmith. Every object looks smooth and lush from the outside but inside a thin and fragile crust is formed creating movement Each artist approaches her work by choosing moments to deconstruct, inspect and reconstruct. Layers of color, texture, abstract and figurative motifs are visible and hidden, woven under and over each other. Although the moment is frozen, movement, calmness and delicacy are revealed and the works are harmonious.
